Privacy

What we keep: your email address, your first name if you give it, a hashed password, your language, and your learning activity (lessons, answers, XP, streak, hearts). Stripe keeps your payment details; we never see your card number.

Why: to run your account, save your progress, show the weekly leaderboard (first names only), and manage your subscription. Legal basis: the contract between us, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service working.

How long: as long as your account exists. Ask for deletion at the address above and the account and its data are erased within 30 days. Stripe keeps invoices for the legal accounting period.

Cookies: none for tracking. Your browser stores your session and your language choice. Audience is measured without cookies (Vercel Web Analytics).

Reminder emails: if you haven't been back to Kurdi School for a few days, we write to remind you — never more than three emails in a row: after 3 days away, then about a week later, then about two weeks after that, in your account's language and with your next step. To do this we use the date of your last activity, your first name, your language and how far you are in the course. Every email carries a link to stop receiving them, in one click and without signing in; you can also simply reply to the message. No reminder is sent if you have come back in the meantime. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you continue the course you started, and your right to object at any time.

Level test: at the end of the test you may leave an email address to hear about what comes next in the course. It is kept together with your result and your language, it is passed to nobody and used for no advertising. There is no automatic unsubscribe link: a request to the address above is enough, and the address is deleted.

Notifications: new accounts and payments are signalled to the publisher by an internal Telegram message that carries your email address. Your rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, objection — write to the address above. You may also complain to the CNIL.

Terms of sale

The service. Kurdi School is an online Kurmanji course. The free plan gives access to the whole course with four hearts; a wrong answer costs a heart, a heart comes back every eight hours. The Plus plan gives unlimited hearts.

Price. Plus costs €7.99 per month, or €34.99 for a year (launch offer until 31 October 2026, €2.92 a month), VAT included, billed by Stripe from the day you subscribe, monthly or yearly depending on the plan. Prices may change for future periods with one month's notice by email.

Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your profile. Plus stays active until the end of the month already paid; nothing is charged afterwards.

Right of withdrawal. You have 14 days from your first subscription to withdraw, without reason or cost. That period really does apply here: Plus opens immediately, and we ask for no waiver in exchange, although article L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code would allow us to. Write to the address above within 14 days and you are refunded in full. After that you can cancel at any time: Plus stays active until the end of the period already paid, and nothing is charged afterwards. Statutory guarantees remain: if the service does not work as described, write to the address above.

Content. The course is built from a university beginner course in Kurmanji and is provided as is; it is a learning aid, not a certification. You may not copy or resell it.

Disputes. French law applies. Consumers may use the mediator listed on the French government consumer site before any court.
